Based on the design of the famous Japanese Ayu flies, which have gold bead heads, this is an effective nymph to be fished deeper in the water. Fish it in a dead drift as a nymph or swing downstream as a wet fly to imitate caddis pupae. All Tenkara flies come in a glass vial with a cork stopper containing 3 flies. The vial used in packaging the flies can be also be used to capture and study insects in the field.
